Why Storage Matters

Improper storage is the fastest way to degrade your cannabis. Exposure to light, heat, humidity, and oxygen all break down cannabinoids and terpenes — reducing potency and flavour over time.

The Golden Rules

  • Use glass: Airtight glass jars are ideal. Avoid plastic, which produces static and degrades trichomes.
  • Control humidity: Aim for 59–63% relative humidity. Boveda packs help maintain this.
  • Keep it cool: Store below 25°C. Heat encourages mould and accelerates cannabinoid breakdown.
  • Block the light: UV light degrades THC rapidly. Use opaque or dark-tinted containers.
  • Minimise air exposure: Open your storage as infrequently as possible.

What to Avoid

Never store cannabis in the freezer for daily use — trichomes become brittle and snap off. Avoid storing near electronics or appliances that generate heat.
